Life, Glorious Life

So, my running has taken a back seat. Mostly due to life being pretty hectic. A wicked eye infection kept me from competing in Asbury Park's Triathlon, which was totally a bummer, but probably for the best because I was pretty severely undertrained. I could have finished, don't get me wrong, but it probably wouldn't have been very pretty. In other crazy news, Brad and I are officially under contract for a house in Oceanport, NJ. So tomorrow, we are moving, with a real truck and all, into a storage facility. Hoping the closing is around Sept. 17th, which is Rosh Hashanha, and I am off, and that would be glorious. We shall see. I'll feel a lot better, and a lot less anxious, once we have most of the stuff out of our apartment and into storage. I guess we'll be living at the shore house for a few weeks until we can move into our new digs. I have been lesson planning non-stop for three completely different curriculums which is intense and more difficult than it sounds if you're not a teacher, packing non-stop, and then falling asleep to the Olympics at night. I think the stress of planning everything (new job, new house, new husband-to-be) is finally catching up with me. I am definitely on edge, and very much looking forward to a relaxing cruise in Alaska. We leave for that on Friday. But, there are a few loose ends we need to take care of before then... like packing. Haha. More packing. Ahhh. But, also, I am going to proctor the Regents at my old school Thurs and Fri, mostly because it's a little less than $40 an hour to watch kids take a test, and almost $600 before taxes if I work a day and a half. So, as stressful as it will be to head back to the school I'm leaving, at least I know I'm leaving with some pocket change. Also, we are doing our inspection on Wednesday, and I just hope the house is solid at this point. Wednesday we are also going to meet our future friends at the happy hour in Rumson, because Brad and I are joining a touch football league this fall--branching out, ya know? I'm super super super psyched to be settled in one place and not live out of a suitcase every weekend. You have no idea. And Monday, I am going over to Freehold to try and get an employment verification letter for the mortgage and drop off some more paperwork to HR. Yikes! And at some point, Shea will have to go to Brad's parents' house, because that's where she is welcome. So yeah, a busy week, then a relaxing vacation, and then it gets all crazy-like again. But, that's life, glorious life!
